LION HARVEY WOOD
Harv’s Lions career started in 1972 when he joined the Long Point Lions club. Due to an employment relocation, sports activities and raising a family, Harv put his Lions ambitions on hold for several years. His next Lions activity began in 1997 when he joined the St George Lions, while there, he became President, Membership Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. Fifteen years later, Harv transferred his membership to the Rockton Lions Club where he became President and Membership Chair.
Harv’s Lions activities next extended to District A-15 where he became Zone Chair, Region Chair and eventually, Governor. Now as Past District Governor, his duties extend throughout the District. Harv has visited all 55 Clubs in District A- 15 and has made many friends as he has travelled this journey.
Harv will tell you that attending the USA Canada Forum is one or the best activities in Lions and he has attended, three, Columbus Ohia, Spokane Washington and Calgary Alta. He is enrolled to attend the 2023 edition in Reno Nevada in Sept 2023. Harv’s proudest moment in Lions was when spouse Eleanor became a member of the Rockton Lions Club. Eleanor has enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow Lions made many friends as she has travelled with Harv.
For the Wood family, Lions has provided the opportunity to travel and to make hundreds of friends that otherwise would never have happened
